Kashmir and Ladakh in 1981 (1)

Warning:
this trip was made nearly 30 years ago, and a lot of things changed in the meantime. Among them: Srinagar was then a very peaceful place (which it isn't anymore), and Ladakh had been less touched by modern civilization.

We made our first trip to India in July 1981, and we intended to visit Ladakh.


We landed in New Delhi, and stayed there for one day. We did a quick visit of the city ...

... which included the Qutb Minar, the highest minaret (72m) of India.

We also saw the tomb of Humayun, the second Moghol emperor ...
